As the WSOP* main event gets under way, PokerStars, the world's largest online poker room, last night announced two great new Team PokerStars Pro signings: seasoned poker pro David Williams and Yale Law School student Vanessa Selbst join the team.

PokerStars has announced the launch of PokerStars.fr, a French-only version of the world’s largest online poker site, after being granted the licence number 0006-PO-2010-06-25 from the Autorité de Régulation des Jeux en Ligne (ARJEL) to operate in France.

Helsinki Vintage is Going Global!

The popular Helsinki Vintage event is being held again on September 19 in the Merikaapelihalli at Helsinki’s Cable Factory. One of Northern Europe’s most important vintage events is now going global, with sellers not only from Finland, but also from Sweden, Estonia, and possibly even further afield. The Merikaapelihalli space will be filled with vintage culture, selected, high-quality vintage sales goods, a cafe and, on this occasion, a vintage-style hairdresser, plus lots of other things to see and experience from past decades.

The PokerStars.com Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) drew to a close on Monday night after two weeks of thrilling tournament action.
The SCOOP series began on May 2 and featured three tiers of buy-ins that allowed players of all bankrolls to play highly competitive tournament poker. Each of the 38 events had low, medium and high buy-in levels, combining to create 114 SCOOP Champions, each securing a big payday and a SCOOP winner’s watch.
